Mr Mitry took my 98 year old mother through an initial consultation and her subsequent cataract operation with great care and consideration. Everything went very smoothly and we are both extremely grateful to Mr Mitry and all the team.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes last month with Mr Mitry. I had been postponing the surgery for more than a year and had seen other ophthalmologists in the meantime. Mr Mitry came highly recommended, and after an initial free 15-minute consultation followed by a full appointment, I felt completely confident in proceeding.
It was not only Mr Mitry’s expertise and calm reassurance that stood out, but also the professionalism and kindness of the whole team, from the optometrist, to the highly efficient secretary Beth, and the anaesthetist. Throughout the process, I genuinely felt very well looked after.
Everything went smoothly, and the outcomes were exactly as predicted. I am extremely pleased with the results and very grateful to Mr Mitry and his team.

This was the second cataract operation Mr Danny Mitry performed on me.
I always found him very caring, calm and very professional when explaining the situation and the alternatives offered.
When I went to the London Clinic, everybody in Mr Mitry's Team knew exactly what I needed and what tests were necessary.
Mr Mitry on the day of the operation was as usual very calm and reassuring.
At all time I felt that he knew exactly what i needed and what he had to do.

His calm relaxed approach works throughout the consultative phase and into the procedural.

I saw Mr Mitry when I started seeing flashing lights and a black dot floating in my one eye. He sent me for a scan then calmly discussed the results with me. He explained my options and recommended a retinal vitrectomy surgery ( not laser) which I would need as an emergency. He was very calm and professional throughout which reassured me, given I was quite shocked I would need an operation that day. He explained the whole procedure to me so I understood it ( even using a model of the eye!), that it would take about an hour under light sedation. After the operation I would then need to lie on my front ( posturing) for one hour ( though the times can vary). I returned later that day for the operation and again was visited by Mr Mitry who answered any further questions I had. I felt very reassured by his gentle and professional manner and felt I was in very capable hands. His team ( including his anesthetist who visited me beforehand) were very kind and put me at ease before having the sedation. I felt no pain and felt awake during the operation but don’t have too much memory of it! Before going into the theatre I was covered with a warm blanket which helped make me sleepy! And the various nurses and anesthetist seemed very chatty and kind, regularly asking me if I was alright. On entering the theatre Mr Mitry put a light sheet covering my eyes (which didn’t make me feel claustrophobic).He again explained each step before doing it I think..! On recovery he visited me back in my room to tell me that everything had gone well and explained what would happen in my recovery. I was very impressed he followed this up with a phone call the next day being a Saturday. Overall I can’t recommend Mr Mitry high enough. His calm professional manner greatly reassured me throughout and I felt I was in great hands which has been shown by a fantastic outcome!

I first saw Mr Mitry on 10th November 2025 after being referred by my optician, Sachin Patel of SS Opticians, due to symptoms in my left eye that were very similar to those I experienced when I had a detached retina in 2018. After examining my eye, Mr Mitry confirmed Mr Patel's diagnosis and recommended surgery.
The operation took place on 19 January 2026 at the London Eye Centre on Harley Street, London. From my very first consultation and throughout the entire process, Mr Mitry was exceptional. He was courteous, patient, and extremely helpful, taking the time to explain the condition and the procedure in a clear and reassuring way.
The care and attention he showed continued during my follow-up appointments after the surgery. I always felt I was in very safe and capable hands.
The surgery was a complete success, and the vision in my left eye is now even better than before. I am extremely grateful to Mr Mitry for his expertise and the excellent care I received, and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing specialist eye treatment

I had cataract surgery with Dr. Mitry, an excellent surgeon not only because of his medical skill but also because of his humanity. I always felt supported and very safe throughout the entire process. His whole team is outstanding, and that made the experience extremely positive. I also felt safe and well cared for at the clinics, where the service was excellent both professionally and personally. Needless to say, I am thrilled with the results and with the lenses he recommended for me. I was so pleased that I decided to continue doing my annual check-ups with Dr. Mitry’s team.

Dr Danny Mitry is outstanding. He is professional, patient, and kind. I was anxious and postponed surgery three times, and he was completely supportive, never pushy, and always took time to explain my options. He did extensive testing and measurements before surgery and again right before, and worked hard with me to choose lenses that truly fit my lifestyle. Aftercare instructions were crystal clear, and he even called me back on a Sunday when I had questions. He did not rush the process and waited for one eye to settle before doing the second, then tested again and had a long discussion with me about the best lens choice for the second eye.

His PA Beth is also wonderful. She is extremely organised, responds instantly, and is incredibly helpful.

The results have been outstanding. The surgery was pain-free, the downtime was minimal, and my quality of life has improved dramatically. Highly recommended.

My wife Kate Manners had the treatment, this is her review.
I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Mitry and his team. I was very apprehensive about cataract surgery but Mr Mitry put my mind at rest. At the first consultation I had various pre-examination tests and he went through the options available that would suit my eyes. There is a large range of lenses and not all are suitable for everyone. After a detailed discussion about the different lenses and my lifestyle he recommended the ones that would suit the best. I was prepared to sacrifice some distance vision in order not to have to constantly put on and take off reading glasses. He outlined the possible complications which are very rare. Although some surgeons do both eyes at the same visit, he preferred to do one at a time as did I.
I had both eyes done under sedation which meant I was completely relaxed and pain free.
I had an interim check including more tests after the first eye was treated and had a further discussion about the lens for the other eye. the second eye was then done a fortnight later.
I have been keeping to the strict instructions including three different types of drops several times per day. I have had no pain and my eyes are healing nicely.
I had a second check about a week after the second eye was done.
The vision in both eyes is vastly improved. the colours were brighter straight away and the definition came after a few days.
I can now drive, play tennis use the computer and read without glasses which is quite remarkable as I have worn glasses since the age of 10.
I am very pleased with the result and the care taken with my treatment.

I had right eye cataract surgery 2 weeks ago with Mr Mitry.
I was hesitating for about a year when would be the right time to have this elective surgery and went to see Mr Mitry 3 times and each time everything was explained fully to me and I never once felt pressurised to move forward.
I decided to have the surgery and booked it for end of January 2026.
Every part of this journey was carefully explained to me including meeting the anaesthetist, the hospital was also very organised and everyone involved looked after me as I also have osteoporosis and wanted to be “handled with care”, which I was.
I would definitely recommend Mr Mitry on all levels..
